Dear Parents/Guardians,

This letter is to update you on the procedure we will be using this year in the event that a student is absent from school.

This year, all absences should be reported by calling the Attendance Line by 9:00AM. Please dial (814) 435-6571 to reach the school menu, and then enter “2” for Attendance. You will be directed to leave a message.

In your message, please leave the following information:

Your Name

Student’s Name

Date

Reason for Absence (Briefly)

Your Phone Number (If you wish to have Mrs. Kosa call you back)

**Please note that the messages left on the Attendance Line will be listened to by employees other than Mrs. Kosa; do not leave any private information on the message. Simply request a call back from Mrs. Kosa when leaving your message, and she will return your call.

If you call the Main Office, the office personnel will direct you to call the Attendance Line. Using this line will allow us to keep all information in the same place, making it easier to organize and utilize this information. Calling this line and leaving a message by 9:00AM will function in the same way as a written note of absence, making it so that the absence is considered “excused.”

As always, please continue to bring in doctor/appointment notes when your student is at an appointment.
